The Club

Every kind of golfer, same tee sheet.

Years of rounds, one belt, and a whole lot of people who just like playing together. Scratch golfers and first-timers, in the same photos. That’s the whole idea.

Where It Started

A handful of friends grabbed a tee time in 2022, the group grew by word of mouth, and somewhere along the way a championship belt showed up. What matters is what it turned into: a club where the tee sheet fills faster every year and nobody asks for your handicap before saying hello.

The Die-Hards

Some folks just never miss.

Every community has its regulars. Here are the five who’ve shown up most in club history.

How We Play

Worried you’re not good enough? You’re exactly good enough.

The club is named Double Bogey for a reason. Scratch golfers, weekend hackers, and people who last swung a club at a bachelor party all share the same tee sheet. Here’s exactly what happens when you sign up.

Your First Round

Five steps, start to finish.

  1. 1

    Register online

Thirty seconds through Square checkout. No membership, no dues. You just cover the course's green fee for that round plus card processing, and if you sign up with a friend you're guaranteed the same cart.

  2. 2

    Get the details by email

Tee times, the meetup spot, and a reminder the night before so nothing sneaks up on you.

  3. 3

    Show up thirty minutes early

Group photo, range balls, and a few minutes to meet the field before anyone tees off.

  4. 4

    We group you

Carts, tee times, teams, all handled. You just find your name and your cart partner.

  5. 5

    Score on your phone

A live leaderboard link lands in your text thread. No app to download, nothing to install.

Two Tracks, One Tee Sheet

Competitive when you want it. Casual when you don’t.

Nobody checks your handicap at the door. Every game has a casual track: chase the belt, or just enjoy a round with people who are glad you came. Your call, every time.

The Main Event

2-Man Scramble.

The club’s bread and butter. You and a partner both tee off, play the best of your two shots, and go again from there. One good swing a hole is all it takes, so nobody carries the team and nobody gets carried, and a first-timer’s lucky putt counts exactly as much as a scratch golfer’s perfect drive. Bring a friend or let us pair you up.

“Both of you hit, play the best ball, write down the same score. Two players, one card, zero excuses.”

The Double Bogey Handicap

Before the round, the system quietly picks six secret holes: two par 3s, two par 4s, two par 5s. After the round, your score on those holes (clamped between par and double bogey) sets your allowance. So sandbagging is impossible, and a first-timer can beat a scratch golfer on net. Champions are revealed after the round. The suspense is the whole point. Prefer to just play? Casual players skip the competition entirely.

  • It's a true scramble: you both tee off, walk to the better ball, and you BOTH play your next shot from there. Every shot, tee to pin, including putts.
  • Breakfast ball on the first tee: one free do-over to shake the nerves.
  • If one ball is lost, the other is automatically in play.
  • Both lost? Drop within two club lengths of where it entered trouble, one-stroke penalty.
  • Relief one club length from cart paths, hazards, and rock-hard ground, but not bunkers.
  • Both players write down the same score. No gimmes, every putt counts.
  • Max score is double bogey plus one, then pick up and move on.
  • One-minute search for a lost ball. It's gone. Let it go.
  • Ready golf: hit when you're ready, not when it's technically your turn.
  • No unsolicited advice. Nobody asked.
The Grudge Match

King of the Hill, hole by hole.

Our loudest format. Every 2-man scramble pair gets drafted onto a side, Red or Blue, and then it’s a turf war. Two words to learn: points are what your pair earns on a hole, and territories are what a hole is worth. The color with the most territories at the end wins, and everyone on that side earns season points. The pair that puts up the most points for its color, win or lose, is crowned the Kingmakers.

Step 1 · Your score earns points

  1. Eagleor better3pts
  2. Birdie2pts
  3. Par1pt
  4. Bogey1pt
  5. Double bogeyor worse0pts

One team score per hole, scramble rules. That score is worth the points shown, no matter who you’re playing with.

Step 2 · Add up each color. More points takes the hole.

Hole 3 · secret bonus · worth 2 territories

Red

  • Cart 1 · Birdie2

Blue

  • Cart 4 · Par1
  • Cart 6 · Double bogey0
Points2
Red 4, Blue 2. Red claims the hole.+2 territories to Red

Both colors tie on points? Nobody gets the hole. A normal hole is worth one territory; three secret holes are worth two, and you don’t find out which until your group gets there.

Step 3 · Watch the map fill in

Every green shows who owns it.

Your phone shows the course. A green outlined red or blue is a territory that color has claimed. Grey means the hole tied and nobody got it. A dashed green is still out there to be won. The tag under each flag is what the hole is worth, and it stays a question mark until your group reaches the tee.

  • Red owns it
  • Blue owns it
  • Tied, unclaimed
  • Not played yet

Fifteen holes worth one territory and three secret holes worth two, gold-ringed here once the round is over. Red holds 13 territories to Blue’s 8, so Red takes the hill.

Casual Rounds

No pressure. Just golf.

Rather just play? Every round has a casual track: no handicap, no leaderboard, no belt on the line. Show up, hit it around, and enjoy a good walk with people who are glad you came. These four keep the group moving, and that’s the whole rulebook.

  • Max score is double bogey plus one, then pick up and move on.
  • One-minute search for a lost ball. It's gone. Let it go.
  • Ready golf: hit when you're ready, not when it's technically your turn.
  • No unsolicited advice. Nobody asked.
Game Day

No app. No clipboard. Just your phone.

A scoring link lands in your text thread the morning of the round. Tap it and you’re in, nothing to download. Every hole shows the satellite map, the par, and the yards. Drop your score and the board moves for the whole field in real time.

The Prize Drawing

How the drawing works.

Some rounds finish with a sponsor prize drawing. Not every round has one, so the rounds page marks the ones that do. When a round includes the drawing, it runs the same for everyone in the field, and here’s exactly how it works, start to finish, so the whole thing stays simple and fair.

1

Tickets are earned by playing

You earn tickets on the course: showing up, good scores like birdies and eagles, the side contests when a round runs them, and the awards you pick up along the way. Each round's How it works lists exactly what that round pays. Tickets are never sold, and nothing anyone does changes another player's odds. The only way in is to play.

2

Prizes come from our sponsors

Every prize is donated by a local business, the same folks who help back the rounds. When you win, you'll always see exactly who gave it, because they earned the thanks.

3

The draw is provably fair

We hold the drawing at wrap-up, right after the round. Every draw saves its random seed and the full ticket count, so anyone can check the math afterward. Win something and your other tickets stay in the hat for the prizes still to come.

Still Have Questions?

The Facebook group answers everything.

Fifteen hundred members, every question you can think of already asked and answered. Ask a new one and someone will have you sorted before your next round.

Sponsors

Put your name on the round.

Double Bogey is a not-for-profit club with 1,500+ members and one tee sheet. We don’t run ads and we don’t take a cut, so a sponsor logo here means something: a local business backing the round, not a banner farm.

Event sponsors

Backing the upcoming rounds.

Local names on the rounds still to come. Donated gifts become prizes in the post-round drawing.

Past sponsors

The sponsors who came before.

Businesses who backed a past round, what they put up, and the members who won it.

What you get

Your logo, everywhere the club actually looks.

Every round email

Your logo sits at the bottom of every game email the club sends: the announcements weeks out, the night-before reminder, the results the morning after. That's the mail our members actually open.

On the club site

A sponsor strip on the home page, the rounds page, and every results page, live for as long as you're an active sponsor.

Linked to your business

Every logo placement clicks through to your website. No middlemen, no tracking games, just your name in front of DFW golfers.

Social media assets

We send you ready-to-post social media graphics for the rounds you back, made for your business's own pages. Post them, tag the club, and reach the members twice.

Placements stay up for as long as you’re an active sponsor, and they come down the day you stop. Terms are a conversation with Kory, not a rate card.

Start the conversation

Tell us who you are.

Leave your details and Kory will call you back to talk it through: what you do, what it costs, and when your logo goes up. That’s the whole process.

Local first.

We’re a DFW club and we’d rather carry the roofer, the taco spot, and the title office our members already use than anyone’s national campaign.

Optional. A few words shown under your logo everywhere it appears.
